Competition Closing Dates

Please note the following Closing Dates for the current round of each Competition:

Scotch Doubles - Prelims - Play-on Tuesday 27th January 2026

Scotch Doubles - Last 16 - Where possible Play-on Tuesday 27th January 2026

Pairs KO - Last 16 - Play-by Wednesday 2nd February 2026

3-Man-Team - Last 16 - Play-by Wednesday 2nd February 2026

Individual KO - Last 16 - Play-by Wednesday 4th March 2026

Over-55's KO - Quarter-Final  - Play-by Wednesday 4th March 2026

Individual Merit - Quarter-Final  - Play-by Wednesday 1st April 2026

• Team Delegates are responsible for ensuring matches are arranged.
• Arranging matches on or very near the ‘Play By’ date is not acceptable, at least 3 days prior should be arranged.
• Failure to play a match by the ‘Play By’ date may result in one or both players being eliminated. Your Delegate should be notified immediately on any issue that may result in the match not being played.
• Failure to turn up to ‘arranged’ matches may result in disqualification.

Scotch Doubles Knockout - Prelim and Last 16 Rounds

Preliminary Round and Last 16 matches to be played where possible on Tuesday 27th January 2026. Last 16 matches to be played by by Wednesday 4th March 2026.

Rules for competition matches are:

• Team Delegates are responsible for ensuring matches are arranged.
• Arranging matches on or very near the ‘Play By’ date is not acceptable, at least 3 days prior should be arranged.
• Failure to play a match by the ‘Play By’ date may result in one or both players being eliminated. Your Delegate should be notified immediately on any issue that may result in the match not being played.
• Failure to turn up to ‘arranged’ matches may result in disqualification.
• Format is the best of 3 frames comprising of 2 players taking turns in four-handed frames. Handicaps are based on a combined value and are calculated by adding the individual handicaps together then dividing by 2 with the handicap rounded UP to the next whole number.  Home team breaks first except at neutral venues where a coin is tossed to determine first break then alternate breaks thereafter.  The order of play shall be determined at the start of each frame and, when so determined, must be maintained throughout that frame. Players may change the order of play at the start of each new frame. Players are not allowed to discuss tactics whilst at the table.
