The committee is very sad to announce the passing of one of the founders of the Vic Harris League, the great Joe Lazarus. A stalwart in the snooker world who dedicated his life to the sport and will be sorely missed. We, as a league and all its members, send our deepest sympathy to Joe’s family and friends. We also pass on our gratitude to Joe, who along with Vic, started this league way back in 1981. Without those two this league may never have happened.
A minute silence will be held on Monday's games coming, captains have been issued an email mentioning this.
RIP Joe x
Congratulations to Brian Morgan the 7th Memorial winner of the Vic Harris Memorial competition recently held at lanes sports bar. Brian competed through a field of 54 runners which was again a good turnout & defeated James Baylis 3-2 in the final from being 2-0 down. A 91 clearance got him back levels in the match & went on to take the trophy.
Personally it’s great that Brian has his name on this great trophy because he was close to Vic throughout Morgs professional career so well done him.
Highest category break (over 40) of the day was James Baylis with a 60 break & (over 60 -21 players) Brian Morgan 91 so well done to everyone for their efforts.
Thanks for everyone for their support once again, wasn’t far off 64 runners so maybe next year we can top this.
Thanks to our sponsors - CSF Building Contractors Ltd & Lanes Sports Bar for sponsoring this event.
Colin & James put this event on to remember Vic Harris & we hope everyone enjoyed the 2024 competition. See you in 2025 for the next one.
